executives and professionals seeking to improve the
lives of women throughout the world. Internationally,
there are 32,000 Zonta members in 69 countries. The
objectives of the organization are to: a) improve the
legal, political, economic, educational, health and
professional status of women; b) provide service at the
global and local level, especially toward the prevention
of violence against women and girls worldwide; and c)
work toward the advancement of understanding, good will,
and peace through a world fellowship of executives in
business and the professions.
The Zonta Club of Fairfax County, chartered in 1957,
continues to support service projects to help meet the
needs of our community. We finance scholarships at
Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason
University, and a wide range of Domestic Violence
initiatives including support to the Fairfax County
Women's Shelter. Such projects are supported by
fundraising activities, including an annual golf
tournament and beer sales at the Celebrate Fairfax Fair.
